Page 2 - Making the text

Now that you?re done with your background now we are making the text on the left side, I will use our site name to do so ?SkillTuts.com? I used 43 pt, Tahoma bold font, with a dark green. (#294B06). First you need to ?Rasterize Layer?.

Hold ?CTRL? and click the layer (You?ll se that the text is now selected.) Go to: (SELECT --> MODIFY --> CONTRACT) and contract it by 1 pixel.

Now select the ?Gradient Tool? again and chose from (Black to White) to? "Foreground to Transparent" like showed on the picture below. Now I drag it little above the text to the middle of the text, experiment a little your self. I used this color: (23FC13).

Now same goes on making the sign next to the text. I used the custom shape tool (u) and made a little checker next to the text. I used the same colors and methods like I used on the text. Now you should have something like this:

Now we are moving on how to make the reflection of the text and the sign. You should duplicate both of the layer for the ?SkillTuts.com? text and the sign. Now select one of the copied layers first and go to: (EDIT --> TRANSFORM --> FLIP VERTICAL) and move it so it?s right underneath the ORGINAL layer.

How to make it look more realistic. ??Ad layer mask? To the copied layers...

Now change the opacity to those layers I used ?70%?. Then press ?D? on your keyboard to reset your colors. Or if you want to do it manually change the foreground color to black and background color to white! Then select the gradient tool again and use from Foreground -- > Transparent. Use that tool like you used it to get the text done! Drag it from bottom to top to add the mirror effect on the text!

Now you should have something like this:
